Devil's Slide Trail: A Breathtaking Coastal Hike in Northern California

The trail is approximately 1.3 miles one way, and it’s mostly paved, with some dirt sections, making it a relatively smooth and easy walk. The highlight of the Devil’s Slide Trail is its incredible views from the clifftop, where you can see the rocky coastline stretching out in both directions. On clear days, you can even spot the Farallon Islands off the coast.

As you walk along the trail, you’ll pass through areas with native coastal vegetation, and you might even spot wildlife like seabirds, hawks, and, occasionally, migrating whales. The Devil’s Slide Trail is especially beautiful at sunrise or sunset, when the light casts a golden glow on the ocean below.

Whether you're a photographer, or just someone looking for a peaceful hike with spectacular coastal views, Devil’s Slide Trail is a must-see spot in the Bay Area.
